Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 7 July 2025 | Effective Date: 7 July 2025
1. Definitions
- "Agreement" — these Terms and Conditions, together with any written service scope or quote issued by us.
- "Service" — watch repair, servicing, or restoration work carried out by Tickwright, and use of this website.
- "We / Us / Our" — Tickwright, operating at 24/9 Thalang Road, Talat Yai, Mueang Phuket, Phuket 83000, Thailand.
- "User / You / Client" — any person who uses this website or engages Tickwright for a service.
- "Piece" — a watch, movement, case, or associated component left with us for assessment or service.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By using this website or submitting a service enquiry, you confirm that you have read and agree to be bound by this Agreement. You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are acting on behalf of another person or entity, you represent that you have authority to do so.
3. Service Description
Tickwright offers watch repair and restoration services from our studio in Phuket, Thailand. Current service tiers are: Quick Care Visit (฿3,600), Automatic Service (฿14,900), and Collector Restoration (฿32,000). Services are available to walk-in clients, clients who contact us by phone or email, and clients who arrange shipping of a piece from abroad. We operate on the island of Phuket and do not maintain satellite locations.
4. Service Engagement and Scope
No work begins on a piece until the service scope has been confirmed — either verbally in-studio with written follow-up, or in writing via email or message. The scope confirmation constitutes the agreed basis for the service. If inspection of the piece reveals a need for work beyond the agreed scope, we will contact you before proceeding. No additional charges will be applied without your explicit approval.
We reserve the right to decline a service request if, in our professional assessment, the piece requires specialist resources not available at our studio, or if accepting it would not be in the client's best interest.
5. Piece Custody
Pieces left with us are held in a secured, insured environment. Written confirmation of custody is provided at drop-off. You are responsible for ensuring that any piece you leave with us is accurately described, and that you are the rightful owner or have authority to authorise service work. We reserve the right to request proof of ownership for high-value or disputed pieces.
In the event of damage to a piece while in our custody arising from our negligence, our liability is limited to the fair market value of the piece at the time of drop-off, as agreed in writing between both parties. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage not documented at intake.
6. User Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about the piece and its history
- Disclose any known issues, modifications, or prior repairs
- Respond to communications regarding scope changes or approvals within a reasonable time
- Collect completed pieces within 30 days of notification of completion; storage after this period is subject to reasonable holding fees
- Not use this website for any unlawful purpose or in a way that disrupts its function
7. Payment Terms
All prices are quoted in Thai Baht (฿). Payment is due on collection or delivery of the completed piece. We accept cash (THB), bank transfer, and major credit and debit cards. We do not accept cryptocurrency. Invoices are issued on completion.
If a service is commissioned but subsequently cancelled before completion, we reserve the right to charge for work already carried out and for any parts sourced. Where no work has commenced, no charge applies.
There is no blanket refund policy on completed services. Where a client believes the work was not carried out to the agreed scope, we invite them to raise this with us directly — we will review the matter and, where appropriate, re-examine or rectify the work at no additional charge.
8. Timelines
Estimated timelines are given in good faith but are not contractually binding. Factors outside our control — including parts availability, unexpected movement condition, or workshop demand — may affect completion time. We will notify you of any material delay and provide a revised estimate. Delays do not entitle the client to cancel without charge where work is already in progress.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, images, design, and layout — is the property of Tickwright or its licensors and is protected under applicable intellectual property law. You may view and print content for personal, non-commercial use only. Reproduction, redistribution, or commercial use without prior written consent is not permitted.
10. Disclaimers
Information on this website is provided for general reference and does not constitute professional horological advice tailored to your specific piece. We describe our services honestly; however, we cannot predict outcomes for all watches, particularly older or damaged pieces. Watch repair inherently carries some element of risk, and we will discuss this with you before undertaking any work with significant uncertainty.
We are not responsible for issues that arise from pre-existing conditions not disclosed at intake, or from the client's use of the piece after service.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Thai law, Tickwright's total liability to you for any claim arising from a service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for that specific service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses, including loss of use, loss of profits, or sentimental value. Nothing in this Agreement limits liability for fraud or wilful misconduct on our part.
12. Force Majeure
We are not in breach of this Agreement for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, power outages, government actions, or civil unrest. We will notify you as soon as practicable if such events affect your service.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tickwright, its staff, and representatives from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of this Agreement, your provision of inaccurate information, or your use of this website in a manner inconsistent with these terms.
14. Termination
Either party may withdraw from a service engagement before work commences without penalty, subject to the cancellation provisions in Section 7 if applicable. Where a service is in progress, withdrawal by the client does not release payment obligations for work already completed. We may terminate a service engagement in cases of abusive conduct, suspected fraud, or circumstances that make completion impractical, with appropriate notice.
15. Dispute Resolution
We encourage clients to raise any concern directly with us in the first instance. Most issues can be resolved informally through open communication. Where a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Phuket Province, Thailand. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand.
16. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These terms, together with any written service scope, constitute the full agreement between us.
- Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect.
- Waiver: Failure to enforce a provision at any time does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment: You may not assign rights or obligations under this Agreement without our written consent.
- Notices: Formal notices should be sent to our studio address or to [email protected].
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the website or engagement of our services following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
